Commemorating Waste Awareness Day, Students Conduct Cleaning Activities at the Islamic Boarding School

Integrated Bilingual Junior High School 1 and Integrated Bilingual Junior High School 2 held Waste Awareness Day commemorated every February 21 with a series of activities aimed at increasing environmental cleanliness awareness among students. The event involved all students in grades 7 and 8.

The main agenda of the day began with a seminar delivered by the Head of Waste Management Section from the Department of Environment and Sanitation (DLHK) of Sidoarjo, Mr. Abdul Hakim, S.Ag. S.Sos. M.Si. This seminar aimed to provide understanding to the students about the importance of waste sorting and how to address waste issues in the boarding school environment. All students received information about proper waste sorting techniques and efforts in effectively managing waste.

After the seminar, the students engaged in cleaning activities throughout the boarding school area, including the dormitory area. This aimed to create a clean and comfortable environment for all residents of the boarding school. Additionally, they were also invited to participate in recycling activities to turn waste into unique and useful craft materials with full creativity.

The day’s activities ended with an expression stage featuring various talents of the students, ranging from Islamic songs to performances from the school’s orchestra. This expression stage served as a platform for students to showcase their potential and talents in various fields. AHP
