Processing Leaf Waste into Planting Media by 7th grade at Integrated Bilingual Middle School

Tuesday, January 30th 2024 – In the North Field of the Integrated Bilingual Middle School, 7th grade students from the Sciencepreneur skills program carried out activities to process leaf waste into planting media.

This activity was held as a response to the problem of leaf waste, especially raindrop leaves which are abundant in the Integrated Bilingual Middle School environment. Students are actively involved in the process of collecting leaf waste, sorting twigs and plastic, drying, and grinding using special machines.

The next process involves fermentation using EM4 to speed up composting. With this, students not only learn about processing leaf waste but also appreciate the concept of recycling and environmental sustainability.
