On September 9th and 10th, 2024, the 9th-grade language class from SMP Bilingual Terpadu embarked on an exciting visit to Kampoeng Inggris Pare, Kediri. The boys’ class visited on September 9th, while the girls’ class followed on September 10th. The program aimed to enhance the students’ English-speaking abilities and boost their confidence in using the language in real-life situations.
The journey began early in the morning, with the students leaving the school at 7 a.m. aboard a bus. The excitement was evident as they anticipated a day full of interactive learning. After a two-hour drive, they arrived at Kilisuci Park in Pare at 9 a.m., where their immersive English experience began.
The first step was with the Mahesa Institute team, a renowned English language training center in Kampoeng Inggris. The students were greeted with a variety of fun and engaging activities designed to make learning English enjoyable. They played games like miming, which challenged their creativity and communication skills, and participated in quiz games that tested their knowledge and quick thinking in English.
Following the games, the students headed to one of the English classes in Kampoeng Inggris, where they attended a special presentation. This session gave them an insight into how Kampoeng Inggris operates as an English immersion village, and the importance of practicing English in daily conversations. One of the highlights of the day was when the students had the chance to walk around the village. They were amazed to see that even local traders in the area used English to communicate, which left a lasting impression on the students.
After a morning filled with learning and exploration, the group gathered for a photo session to capture the memories of their visit. Lunchtime followed, providing an opportunity to relax and reflect on the experiences of the day.
The final stop of the program was a visit to Simpang Lima Gumul, one of Kediri’s iconic landmarks. This allowed the students to unwind and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area before heading back to school.
